Samsung Instinct HD

Sprint mobile operator has just announced new Samsung Instinct HD. In contrast to its predecessor this monoblock device has more advanced set of technical characteristics. The camera of this phone has 5 Mp resolution and supports HD video recording. This phone also equipped with TV out so users can watch HD videos on TV set. Samsung Instinct HD has 3.2 inch TFT touch screen with 320×480 px resolution, 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, GPS, accelerometer and 1440 mAh battery. The dimensions are 117.6х57.9х12.7 mm, the weight is 113.7 g. Supported network are CDMA/EV-DO rev.A 800/1900 MHz.

Wi-Fi Direct: Goodbye Bluetooth! January 9, 2010

Wi-Fi Direct

The Wi-Fi Alliance has just said that it is almost ready to release new standard – Wi-Fi Direct. Due to new standard devices with Wi-Fi module will be able to connect in a new way that makes it simpler. Wi-Fi Direct will provide an opportunity to communicators, smartphones, notebooks, netbooks, cameras and printers to make one-to-one connections. There will be no need of any routers, access points and etc. Like Bluetooth new standard will allow to send and receive files from any Wi-Fi device. It is also notable that there is no need to update hardware – Wi-Fi Direct will be supported by most of present-day Wi-Fi devices. It is expected that such technology will completely force out Bluetooth because of its speed and usability. The release of new wireless standard will take place in the middle of 2010.
