Wi-Fi Direct

The Wi-Fi Alliance has just said that it is almost ready to release new standard – Wi-Fi Direct. Due to new standard devices with Wi-Fi module will be able to connect in a new way that makes it simpler. Wi-Fi Direct will provide an opportunity to communicators, smartphones, notebooks, netbooks, cameras and printers to make one-to-one connections. There will be no need of any routers, access points and etc. Like Bluetooth new standard will allow to send and receive files from any Wi-Fi device. It is also notable that there is no need to update hardware – Wi-Fi Direct will be supported by most of present-day Wi-Fi devices. It is expected that such technology will completely force out Bluetooth because of its speed and usability. The release of new wireless standard will take place in the middle of 2010.
